Ariana’s Training Philosophy:
Keep It Simple, Keep It Cute
The science of animal behavior and training has come a long way. We are no longer burdened with the misconception that punishment and force are necessary to attain strong, lasting results. Ariana uses only humane training methods based on positive reinforcement. She doesn’t use force, intimidation, shock, or physical corrections. Instead, Ariana teaches dogs to love doing what clients want them to do – so her clients can feel good about their training results and how they were achieved.
And Ariana is a master at keeping things simple. Many training and behavior challenges can be solved by training a few simple behaviors to full proficiency. So she assesses each client’s goals and focuses on the behaviors and topics that will make the most difference, developing creative solutions for each family’s needs and lifestyle.

What does all of this stuff mean?
Ariana’s credentials show a commitment to professional certification standards and to continuing education. This commitment is particularly important in an unregulated industry that does not require trainers to seek education or certification before working with dogs and their people.
Ariana has independently pursued and achieved some of the highest honors in dog training, including successfully completing the Karen Pryor Academy, one of the most widely recognized and arduous programs for dog trainers; attaining her certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, the leading certification organization for dog trainers and the only one to have achieved legal status as a certifying body; and completing her TAGteach certification, an international program focused on positive, effective coaching techniques for people.
What Ariana Has Done
A self-described dog geek fascinated by everything canine, Ariana has kept herself busy. Most recently, Ariana founded Operation Socialization® (OS), an organization dedicated to helping puppies grow into well-adjusted adult dogs. Previously, she applied her organizational skills to managing WOOFS! Dog Training Center, a successful and busy dog daycare, boarding, and training facility. It was there that she saw firsthand the problems caused by a lack of early socialization—her inspiration to launch OS.
Ariana’s extensive background in dog training and behavior work also includes evaluating dog behavior, teaching puppy and intermediate classes, working one on one to modify behavior problems from aggression to fearfulness, raising litters of foster puppies, and training apprentices.
Ariana’s expertise and experience have captured the attention of her colleagues, leading to speaking engagements for the Family Paws Parent Education conference and at the Berner University conference. She also developed a webinar for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
What Ariana Does Now
Ariana’s central focus these days is helping dogs and their people enjoy each other to the fullest. She excels at finding convenient, flexible, and creative ways to help clients reach their training goals. How? By working around clients’ busy schedules and doing their training homework for them.
It’s clear in everything Ariana does how much she truly cares about the dogs and the people she works with. Ariana makes herself readily available to clients throughout the training process via email and phone, focuses always on results rather than on blame and shame, and actively maintains a network of local training, daycare, and dog walking professionals to provide clients with whatever services and support they may need to take a bit of the pressure off their busy schedules.
And to be sure she’s always at the top of her game, always ready to give her clients the best training available, Ariana remains committed to continuing education and attends a minimum of 50 hours of behavior and training seminars annually.
“Above and beyond…”
“What really set Ariana apart was her commitment to helping me succeed. She customized our training program to my goals and then went above and beyond, providing me with support and sending me daily emails with progress updates and photos. She also provided comprehensive responses, including links to training videos and websites, to my questions during and following training. In fact, she continues to follow up with me periodically to make sure we’re thriving. I recommend Ariana wholeheartedly and with pleasure.” –Silke Sookraj
